Mayor Ed Gainey released his proposed 2024 budget, which includes money for 50 fewer police officer than before. The deputy mayor said that reflects hiring challenges and the city will work to raise the number back to normal.
While Chatham University grapples with a deficit, some current and former faculty have criticized or expressed concern with the university’s budgeting and accounting practices.
