I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Stand with Israel

Last Saturday, Hamas launched a war against our ally Israel by invading “by land, sea and air using paragliders” and shooting rockets into Israel.

Let’s be clear, Iran is the financier of Hamas. The same Iran that Joe Biden just negotiated with and gave $6 billion dollars. To all Israelis, stand firm—Hamas will NOT be victorious!

The message to our allies in Israel is simple, be as aggressive as you need to be to put an end to Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon! Wipe them out and ensure those terrorists can never threaten anyone again.

At least 11 Americans have been killed by Hamas terrorists in Israel with an unknown number currently being held hostage.

Electing a New Speaker of the House

While House Republicans consider who will be the next Speaker of the House, my focus is on stopping the horrible policies put forward by the Democrats and on promoting commonsense, conservative policies that restore America.

I was proud to endorse and vote for Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House.

However, a majority of the Republican Conference voted to nominate Rep. Steve Scalise. Unfortunately, there were some Members of the Conference who said they would never support Rep. Scalise despite his receiving a majority of ballots in the Conference primary.

Since Rep. Scalise knew he would not be able to win the vote on the House Floor, he removed himself from consideration.

Today, the Republican Conference held a new primary and voted to nominate Rep. Jim Jordan! 

My goal has been to elect the most conservative speaker that I can. America needs a fighter who fights the two-tiered system of justice, makes massive cuts to America's spending problem, and champions Constitutional freedoms as the Founding Fathers intended. 

My hope is that our Speaker is Jim Jordan.

The next step is to ensure that Rep. Jordan will receive enough votes on the House floor to win the Speaker's race. Keep in mind that if four Republicans refuse to support Jordan, he will not become Speaker.

Across the Third District and the country, people expect House Republicans to get this right. Let's elect Jordan as Speaker and get back to doing the People's business, advancing conservative policies, and holding the reckless Biden Administration accountable.

Anti-Semitism in America

While terrorists besiege Israel, horrific pro-Palestine rallies took place here in America. Why would anyone support terrorists who are killing innocent civilians in their beds and cutting the heads off babies?

I’m calling on U.S. Customs and Immigration Services to investigate the anti-Semitic, pro-Palestine rallies and deport any non-citizen in attendance.

It’s time to tell the world where you stand.

If you support Hamas and the gruesome murder of innocent babies, call my office to help you renounce your citizenship or to help cancel your visa.

Americans should never support terrorists over innocent people fighting for freedom from oppression.

Stand Strong Against Hamas Terrorists

Hamas is literally beheading innocent babies in Israel. It’s time for the free world to stand up and stop these barbaric acts by terrorists. It’s time for every American to make a choice. Unwavering support for Israel vs. supporting barbaric acts of terrorism.

These are the most grotesque acts seen since Hitler, Stalin, and Mao. America can put an end to the heinous acts of terrorists, but we don’t have leadership with the moral stamina to actually do it.

If Joe Biden will not give Israel the freedom and clearance to do whatever is necessary to put an end to Hamas and Hezbolah, then Americans demand Biden step down.

There must be an immediate end to Hamas’ acts of terrorism, killing of Americans, and the kidnapping of Americans to be used as hostages.

We have a feckless coward in the Whitehouse, not someone worthy to lead the free world.

As for me, I’m proud to defend freedom, support our friend and ally Israel, and stand against the horrific murders committed by Hamas.

Stop Funding Iran's Attacks on Israel

Everyone knows that money is fungible. Joe Biden's Administration gave $6 billion dollars to Iran which allowed Iran to repurpose dollars to fund Hamas in waging war against Israel.

After Conservatives kept a spotlight on Biden's ridiculous negotiations with the leading sponsor of terrorism, the Administration realized the error of their ways and moved to refreeze the $6 billion dollars through an agreement with Qatar.

Every American should demand to know what type of concessions were made to get Qatar to agree to freezing the funds.

Because the Biden Administration has proven themselves untrustworthy, I joined Rep. Pfluger in cosponsoring legislation to immediately freeze the $6 billion dollars.

Congress must act to stop Iran from funding Hamas because the Biden Administration has proven they cannot be trusted when it comes to giving money to Iran.

Energy Grid Reliability

While Joe Biden puts “the green transition” over security and reliability, energy prices have skyrocketed while reliability is compromised.

We must take the looming resource adequacy crisis seriously, preserve our existing energy fleet, and work to bring more generation online. That’s the only way to ensure affordable, reliable, and clean energy for Americans.

As Chairman of the Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Subcommittee, I am leading the Committee to hold hearings and support legislation like the ‘Guaranteeing Reliable Infrastructure Development (GRID) Act,’ that would amend the Federal Power Act to require coordination between the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and any Federal agency promulgating a regulation that could threaten the reliability of the bulk power system.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.Res.771, Rep. Michael McCaul’s bill to support Israel while it is facing attacks from Hamas and other terrorists.

I cosponsored H.R. 5857, Rep. Jefferson Van Drew’s bill to ban the distribution of identification cards to illegal immigrants by the Biden Administration.

In the District

The first-ever Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival is Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14 with many bluegrass performances to reflect on the Appalachian history of region. Experience the sounds, flavors and crafts of the Appalachian culture in Pickens, SC this weekend!

Newberry College extended their contract through 2027 with head football coach Todd Knight. Coach Knight delivered the most wins for Newberry College in the history of their football program. More than just his victories on the field, Newberry College is thankful for Knight's leadership in all aspects of the college.

Clemson University announced initial approval for a new parking garage to be built on campus. While construction will not start until 2025, students and visitors on campus will have greater parking availability in the near future.
