Howdy Texan –

A lot is happening in the House, so I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on my work for Texas' 31st district.

ON THE DOCKET:

  • I Stand with Israel
  • What do you think?
  • Congressional Veteran Commendation
  • Electing a Speaker

THE BRIEF:

ISRAEL

Just weeks after President Biden released $6 billion to the number one state sponsor of terrorism, Iran, Iran-backed Hamas terrorists launched multi-pronged attacks on Israel. The images, video, and first-hand accounts of the brutality by Hamas are devastating. I unequivocally stand with Israel, our ally and friend. Israel has every right to defend itself with whatever force necessary to end Hamas and protect their people.

Hamas is a terrorist organization. While some on the left have wavered in condemning their barbaric behavior, I will not. There is no justification or explanation for this unprovoked attack. Hamas must be met with overwhelming force to end their threat to Israel once and for all.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Congress will likely consider emergency aid to Israel to assist them in their fight against Hamas.

Do you support additional funding for Israel to defend itself against Hamas??
Yes
No

CONGRESSIONAL VETERANS COMMENDATION

Over the weekend, I hosted the 9th annual Congressional Veterans Commendation ceremony to honor 13 TX-31 veterans for their service to our nation and our community. These extraordinary men and women have bravely served in the United States Armed Forces and continued their selfless service to our local communities. ELECTING A SPEAKER

With the removal of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, House Republicans are continuing conversations to fill the position. Earlier today, a majority of House Republicans voted for Representative Jim Jordan to be our nominee. To formally elect him as Speaker of the House, he must win a majority on the floor. I've been urging the conference to unite in the election so we can move on to legislation to support Israel, finish appropriations bills, and secure the border.
