I don’t know about you, friend, but I’m tired of dysfunction in Washington.

From narrowly averting a government shutdown in the eleventh hour to voting to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy — the first two weeks of October in Congress have been full of chaos and disarray.

The American people are waiting on their elected officials in Washington to work together, not fight amongst themselves and stall our progress.

I came to Congress to cut through the noise and political games to deliver real, meaningful legislation that working families in Central and Southern Illinois and across the country have been asking for, and I'm committed to seeing that through.

No matter how much chaos erupts in Congress, I will always put the American people first and will fight to overcome the partisan games and antics.

But the harsh reality is I’m up for reelection next year and already have two GOP opponents in the race hoping to take my seat, flip IL-13, and roll back our progress.

Ahead of 2024, we’ll need all hands on deck to stay competitive against Republicans bankrolled by ultra-wealthy donors, and I know we can do it one dollar donor at a time.
