Speaking up for students

As I look toward the election in 25 days, I’m focusing on the goals and issues that matter most to me, and to the people of the 89th district. And I can’t think of anything more important for our future than education.

I want to put children at the center of our education policies, and ensure all students have access to a world class education in the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of their background or zip code. I have served on the Suffolk School Board since my election in 2018, and I was re-elected in 2022. While on the board, I participated in training and workshops to improve policies, and was instrumental in developing partnerships and programs that improved academic achievements. I also worked closely with state legislatures to gain significant funding for our public schools—but I’m not done fighting.

The children of this Commonwealth deserve more, so it’s time for some fresh ideas and dedicated advocacy. It’s time to defend things like universal preschool, better pay for educators, and more, but we can’t do that without a win on Election Day. I’m ready to step up and stand up for our future.
