Help Us Knock Doors for Justin Brannan

Dear friends,

It's a tense, difficult moment for our city and our world. Many of us are worried about the safety of the people and communities we love—particularly Jewish, Arab, Palestinian and Israeli communities. We know members of the BYD community are hurting, and are longing for a future where we all of us have true safety, justice and freedom.

In times like these, we need leaders at every level of government who can bridge divides and build up our communities. But here in Brooklyn, some local leaders are fanning the flames of fear and conflict. One Republican City Council Member was even arrested after she unlawfully brought a gun to a non-violent student protest ([link removed]) , a deeply inappropriate and irresponsible act that put New Yorkers' safety at risk.

We deserve better leaders. Amidst such violence and turmoil, it's easy to feel helpless. But at the local level, there are small but important steps we can take to build a better, brighter future for all Brooklynites.

If you'd like to build that future alongside us, we invite you to join us at one of our upcoming events.

Join BYD, the Bay Ridge Democrats and the Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats at noon on Saturday, Oct. 14th to knock doors for Council Member Justin Brannan ([link removed]) and talk to voters about his accomplishments and vision for Council District 47.

Justin is running against a Republican who has voted against legislation to protect our communities from climate change, and has spoken at hateful anti-migrant rallies. This is going to be a very close race, and we can't let a climate change-denying Republican win.

We need your help to elect Justin!
