Hey Friend –
Remember back when the last president eliminated fuel efficiency standards? It made no sense! Now that gas prices are all over the place and it's getting harder for folks to juggle those bills, we need fuel-efficient cars more than ever.
Putting strong fuel economy standards back in place means we'll use less fuel and keep more money in our pockets. Plus, it's a win-win because it helps us clean up our air and protect the climate we all share.
The Biden administration has proposed new standards and is taking public input until October 16. We don’t have much time to weigh in! Please urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to finalize the strongest fuel efficiency standards possible!
Pennsylvania's history is rich with manufacturing, but it hasn't always been clean. These new standards offer an opportunity to bring back clean, union manufacturing jobs to Pennsylvania. It's a chance for our state to thrive again.
Those old dirty manufacturing jobs have also left a mark on our air quality. Communities like the Lehigh and Mon Valleys have had to deal with the consequences, with high rates of respiratory illnesses. We can't let this continue.
So here's the deal: NHTSA is listening, but they need to hear us loud and clear. They're accepting public comments on these standards until October 16th. If enough of us raise our voices, we can make sure they know just how important strong fuel economy standards are to us.
Join me in urging NHTSA to quickly finalize the strongest possible CAFE standards. It's time for change, and we can be part of it!
Let's make this happen, for our wallets, our health, and our planet,
