Take a look at this headline I just read in Politico, team:
Rush $5 right now to fight back so we can protect reproductive rights at the ballot box next month >>>
With the election just around the corner, in which Ohioans will decide whether or not to preserve abortion protections in the state constitution, conservative anti-abortion activists from around the country are pouring their time and money into the state to hold rallies, canvas, phone-bank, and flood the airwaves with advertisements in an effort to make Ohio the first state to reject an abortion-rights measure since the Supreme Court overturned Roe.
And sure, they’re doing it because they’re inherently anti-abortion, but their underlying motivation is because they think if they win in Ohio, they can use the messaging and tactics that worked here as a blueprint for other states in 2024.
Here’s what our Secretary of State had to say:
“Ohio is a classic test market state… People know that, ‘Hey, if my product sells in Ohio, then I can sell it to other places.’ The same logic applies politically.” – Secretary of State Frank LaRose in Politico, 10/11/2023
Ohio is the GOP’s springboard on abortion restrictions. We have to prove to Republicans in our state and throughout the entire country that we refuse to let them silence our voices and use us as a test case for the anti-abortion movement.
So please, pitch in anything you can afford before our last mid-month fundraising deadline before the election to help us win this battle and ensure that the right to abortion care and reproductive healthcare is protected under the Ohio Constitution.
Thank you,
Liz Walters
A reproductive rights initiative is on the Ohio ballot this November. Can Ohio Democrats count on you to chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can to help fuel our fight to protect reproductive rights in our state constitution? →
