Friend,

A week ago today, the Senate voted against proceeding with two common sense pro-life bills. Both of them needed 60 votes for Senators to debate the bills and eventually have a final vote, which would only require a simple majority.

The first was the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Science shows us that unborn babies can feel pain in the womb at 20 weeks gestation or earlier. The Pain-Capable bill recognizes this and bans abortion at 20 weeks or later. This failed 53-44.

The second was the Born-Alive Abortion Providers Protection Act. It's unfortunate that we even need this legislation, but it protects a baby born following a botched abortion, giving them the same medical attention that any other newborn would be given. Again, this measure failed 56-41.

On the other side of the Capitol, Speaker Pelosi and her extreme caucus in the House won't even let us bring these bills to the floor.

That's why we need to re-elect pro-life leaders this November and bring along others to retake the House.

Congressman Don Bacon (R-Nebraska) is one of those leaders. He and I believe that life begins at conception and that we must project the most vulnerable among us. Don is in one of the tightest Congressional races in America right now, but thankfully he’s endorsed by President Trump.

All life is precious, and we need Don Bacon back in the House next year. Together, he and I will work to protect life.

Stand with me, Don and the precious unborn babies in our country.

Sincerely,

Rep. Ron Estes
