The fifth season of Radical Imagination has launched! Our host, Angela Glover Blackwell, talks to visionary activists, artists, educators, and leaders across generations who are mobilizing their communities, owning their power, and driving transformative change. 

In our season opener, Angela speaks with Michael McAfee, President and CEO of PolicyLink, about the historic signing of two Executive Orders by President Biden that prioritize and advance racial equity in the federal government — marking a seminal moment of government action meeting the radical imagination of community. Redesiging Our Nation for All cites ways in which these communities, that have suffered from government neglect and harm, should see changes as a result of these Executive Orders; while calling on leaders and institutions to do the liberatory acts necessary to design a nation that truly centers everyone.

Other guests in this season continue to lift up strategies and practices, and embody ways of being, that push us toward realizing a flourishing multiracial democracy. We explore movements for reparative land and housing justice and hear from the passionate young activists leading the charge toward a sustainable planet. Our guests range from those using cutting-edge technology to preserve cultural languages and traditions, to educators trailblazing an Afrofuturist high school curriculum. 

Throughout this season, as with seasons before, our guests illustrate that the future can be extraordinary; and that we can and will realize a flourishing multiracial democracy. Through their beliefs, words, and actions, we are summoned to join them in manifesting that irresistible vision.
