Friend, this week was National Coming Out Day. In celebration, I’m fighting to put pen to paper to finally codify protections for LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians through the Fairness Act.

Back in May, our State House passed the Pennsylvania Fairness Act, which will prohibit discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.

Since then, I've received countless letters, calls, and emails from people all across the district urging our State Senate to put pen to paper and bring the Fairness Act to a full vote in the chamber.

In a year where hate crimes and discriminatory legislation against LGBTQ+ Americans have been on the rise, we have a critical opportunity to pass long overdue, basic protections for one of our most vulnerable communities.
