John,

Americans for Prosperity activists in Colorado are battling another effort to
undermine hard-won taxpayer protections.

It’s another reason the permanent grassroots army you’re part of is so
important. With 145 offices and hundreds of local teams in 35 states, Americans
for Prosperity is our country’s largest force for prosperity and opportunity.

Activists like you help protect against efforts to repeal good policy, even
when the political odds are stacked against us.

Consider the example of Colorado, where the unique taxpayer protections known
as TABOR (“Taxpayer Bill of Rights”) have been under consistent attack since
they became law in 1992.

AFP activists and staff have thwarted efforts to weaken TABOR 14 different
times, including three victories in 2022. Their efforts helped the Americans
for Prosperity–Colorado Issue Committee protect the core policies of TABOR,
which prevent the government from increasing taxes or spending without approval
from voters.

In the latest anti-TABOR effort, Colorado voters will consider an initiative
in November that dangles temporary property tax reductions in exchange for
permanent repeal of spending safeguards and rollbacks on income tax refunds.

In short: Coloradans get fewer TABOR refunds, and the state spends more.
Fighting that lemon of a deal is why, in support of the Americans for
Prosperity–Colorado Issue Committee, Americans for Prosperity and The LIBRE
Initiative activists and staff are out in droves speaking one-on-one with
thousands of Colorado voters.

On behalf of the committee, activists and staff in Colorado have knocked
20,000+ doors and made 133,000+ calls to urge Colorado voters to reject the
anti-TABOR ballot initiative.

And, because Americans for Prosperity state chapters are backed up by our
national team,we are speaking out against possible IRS taxation of TABOR refunds

John, thank you for working with us nationally, and for everything you do to
reignite the American Dream in DC as well!

Thanks,
