The Texas state legislature has entered a third special session, and once again, they are failing our public school students and teachers.
Amidst a volatile economy, lawmakers have repeatedly fallen short in providing the much-needed funding for Texas public schools. Instead, they are focused on fighting amongst themselves and advocating for private school vouchers, a move that would divert even more taxpayer funds away from our already struggling public school system.
Texas deserves leaders who are committed to solving our public education crisis and delivering for our state — we can no longer afford to prioritize internal conflicts and an extreme agenda over the needs of our public education system. Will you chip in $10 now or whatever you can to help fight back against the chaos in our state legislature? Begin forwarded message from Joaquin:
As the state legislature enters a third special session, the GOP’s infighting and their extreme agenda are once again threatening our public education system.
We are in a public education crisis — and many public school districts are paying the price.
Despite the funding deficit, extreme Republican lawmakers are trying to divert billions away from public schools with their taxpayer-funded voucher plan.
Extreme Republicans know private school vouchers are unpopular. Sign on now to tell them: we need leaders who will deliver for public schools and our students. [[link removed]]

Texas Republicans are preoccupied with petty internal disputes, leaving crucial issues like the need for increased public school funding and teacher raises unaddressed.
And while state leaders like Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick take millions of dollars from far-right mega-donors, we are fighting to invest in our state’s public education system.
So many of our so-called leaders have turned their backs on Texas, so we must stand up and demand better for our kids, our teachers, and our state. Will you add your name to my petition and call out extreme Texas Republicans for their failure to act? [[link removed]]
