To become Washington’s next Governor, Bob must beat a formidable opponent.
Former Republican Congressman Dave Reichert spent fourteen years in the House of Representatives.
As Roll Call put it, “Reichert has won two competitive elections in presidential cycles. Comparing vote share, he outperformed the GOP presidential nominee by 4 points in 2004 and 11 points in 2008…Reichert also outperformed the GOP presidential nominee by 12 points in 2012 and 15 points in 2016…”
So it's not surprising that Inside Elections has declared this race a “battleground.”

In the past, the Republican Governors Association has dropped more than $11 million in Washington campaigns for Governor. And unlike Bob, Dave Reichert is not subject to the “fundraising freeze” that prohibits state officials from raising funds during the legislative session. So Reichert will be able to collect checks from lobbyists, corporations, millionaires, and conservative PACs while Bob is frozen.
Bob is the only candidate who doesn’t accept donations from large corporations or corporate PACs. We can only match that massive amount of spending if grassroots supporters like you step up and help fuel our campaign.
