Hello John,

Yesterday marked four weeks since United Auto Workers launched the ‘stand up’ strike against Ford, Stellantis, and General Motors. In this historic moment, it’s important to remember that striking is a brave act – one that inevitably burdens workers and their families. In the face of greedy corporations, auto workers across the country are reviving collective power and flexing their unity in ways we haven’t seen in decades.

For the good of all working people, we must continue to stand in solidarity with these workers until fair contracts are delivered for all!

The latest from UAW:

  • Well over 30,000 auto workers are now on strike at 44 facilities in 22 states.

  • UAW President Shawn Fain announced that the union will no longer wait until Fridays to expand the stand up strike.

  • In a surprise move, UAW called on 8,700 members of Local 862 at Kentucky Truck Plant to join the strike on Wednesday, October 11. The change in strategy came after Ford failed to provide a counter offer on wages.

  • No new locals will join the strike today. Although, Fain made it clear that the UAW is prepared to call on more workers at any moment.

As the strike continues, United Auto Workers are asking the community to join a picket line in the coming days and celebrate striking workers. Supplies like pizza, water, and other snacks are appreciated.

Stay tuned for more ways to stand with UAW!

In Solidarity,
