John — I’m on the way to Greenville, the last stop on my NC Strong tour. So I thought I’d take a moment to share an urgent message.

Despite our growing momentum and loyal base of supporters like you, I’m still well aware of the threat posed by Mark Robinson, my right-wing opponent.

I’ve had the opportunity to talk to so many North Carolinians over the last few days, and it’s clearer than ever that they do not want the radical agenda Robinson champions. However, it won’t be easy to overcome him and the mega-money forces backing his campaign.

In the next three days, our team needs to raise $18,000 to meet our mid-month fundraising target — but donations have been lagging recently. If we fall short, we risk failing to have the resources we need to take on the GOP. I’m asking committed supporters like you to step up with your first grassroots gift before Monday night to help close the gap.

Look, Mark Robinson has made no secret of his plans if he wins the Governor’s Office. He’s a danger to our rights and freedoms.

He’s even admitted to being a “conspiracy theorist,” but that hasn’t stopped National GOP forces from backing him. In fact, we’re expecting an influx of out-of-state funding. That’s because national Republicans see this race as their best opportunity to flip a gubernatorial seat red — and they don’t care who their candidate is as long as he has an “R” by his name.

The polls continue to show me in a dead heat with my extremist opponent. We’ll need significant resources to stay competitive through Election Day and pull out a victory.
