*Celebrating Success: Wisconsin Supplier Diversity Program Boosting the State's Economy in FY22*

In 1983, the Wisconsin Supplier Diversity Program was born with a vision to promote inclusivity and equity in state procurement. Wisconsin Act 390 set an ambitious target: 5% of goods and services from certified minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs). This historic step also introduced a 5% bid preference for certified MBE firms in state contracts.

Fast forward to FY22, and we're proud to announce that the program is not just meeting but exceeding its goals. A remarkable 23 state agencies have achieved or surpassed the 5% spending target with certified diverse suppliers. Let's dive into the fiscal year 2022 highlights that showcase the significant impact of the Wisconsin Supplier Diversity Program:

*Diverse Suppliers: The Powerhouses of Wisconsin's Economy*

In FY22, diverse suppliers played a pivotal role in Wisconsin's economic landscape, contributing a staggering $206,134,063 to a total spending of $3,485,034,478 across State Agencies and University of Wisconsin System in general procurement, facilities construction, architecture/engineering, and state highway services. This represented an impressive 5.91% of the total spending.

*State Agencies Lead the Way*

Key FY22 Highlights:

* State Agencies spent $142,439,216 with certified MBEs/DVBs, accounting for 8.17% of their total spend.
* University of Wisconsin System Campuses contributed $14,167,128, or 1.87% of their total spend, towards diverse procurement.
* The Division of Facilities Development (DFD) allocated $14,569,471 to certified MBEs and DVBs, representing 3.57% of all expenditures.
* In architectural/engineering services, DFD achieved 7.17% diversity spending.
* The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) devoted 5.89% of their FY22 budget to certified MBEs.

*Conclusion: A Bright Future Ahead*

As we celebrate these remarkable achievements, it's evident that the Wisconsin Supplier Diversity Program is not just a policy but a catalyst for economic growth, diversity, and inclusivity. These figures from FY22 tell a compelling story of progress, proving that when we prioritize diversity, our economy flourishes. With continued dedication to this program, we look forward to even greater success in the years to come, further strengthening Wisconsin's economy and fostering a more inclusive future for all.
