Dear John,

The transportation sector accounts for 29% of all carbon pollution in the US, so building a strong network of passenger trains is a key component to help solve the climate crisis.

Sadly, the Trump Administration disagrees.

Once again in the current budget proposal, they are threatening to eliminate long-distance trains and severely cut Amtrak’s budget. If enacted, 220 cities and towns would lose train service completely and 140 million people will completely lose all access to passenger trains. This means more cars on the road and more pollution in our air.

Please tell Congress to reject these short-sited cuts and instead invest to improve passenger rail service in the Midwest and nationwide. ([link removed])
