Hunger Champion,

There are very few days I look forward to more than World Food Day ([link removed] ) . October 16 is the one day out of the year when our global community can really pause and turn our collective focus to the work of ending world hunger.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit our Rise Against Hunger Italia staff. As I stood chatting with one of our newest team members there, who is from Nigeria, he said something that deeply resonated with me: He shared that with each step he takes every morning as he travels to the office, he becomes increasingly excited about the opportunity he has to make an impact on hunger that day. On Monday, I invite you to share in that same spirit of excitement for this day – this chance ([link removed] ) – to change the world, together.

If you’re not sure where to start, don’t worry. I believe we can all make a difference when we do whatever we can from wherever we are. Here are three ways to take action:

Make a gift of any size ([link removed] ) to help provide nourishing meals for a child in need

Encourage others on social media to join the movement to end hunger.

Visit us on Facebook ([link removed] ) and Instagram ([link removed] ) October 10-16 to cast your vote in our third annual celebrity Chef Showdown

Thank you for making this World Food Day one to remember.

With gratitude,

Rick Kearney

CEO
