As a member of Harrisburg City Council, I know that governing can be hard. My colleagues and I frequently disagree about the best direction for the city, and the debates can be fierce. Whatever our disagreements may be, we all understand that at the end of the day the people we represent are counting on us to deliver results and get the job done, and we do. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the House GOP.

Amid the outbreak of war in the Middle East, and (another) looming deadline for a government shutdown, the House GOP is unable to even elect a Speaker so that they can conduct business. At the heart of the conflict over House leadership is . . . you guessed it . . . the radical, pro-MAGA Freedom Caucus. These extremists don't want government that works. They want to burn it all down. While he is good at staying out of the headlines, depending on his flunkies like Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan to do his dirty work, we can't forget that when it comes to the "Chaos Caucus," all roads lead back to their leader, Scott Perry.

Here are the facts. Perry and his cohorts have ground the House to a halt. They aren't even meeting the bare minimum expectations for the job they were elected to do. I can't do that as a member of City Council or as an attorney, and you can't do it at your job either. If the rest of us fail to do our job, we get fired. It's time that Scott Perry had a dose of the real world. In order to fire Freedom Caucus Chair Scott Perry, we need to defeat him next November.
Let's give Scott Perry a dose of reality. If he can't do his job (which he obviously can't), we need to fire him and hire someone who can. I'm asking for your support so I can go to Washington and get the job done.
