We are horrified by the barbaric terrorist attacks in Israel and mourn the innocent lives that were brutally taken. The world has witnessed the largest mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. Among the dead are peace activists, babies and children, and Holocaust survivors. This was pure, unadulterated evil and it must be unequivocally condemned. If you have not yet seen President Biden’s remarks on this matter, you can watch them ([link removed]) here ([link removed]) .
DEC UPDATES
At the latest Indian River County Democratic Executive Committee meeting, DEC members shared updates on our county initiatives. Chairman William C. Evans gave an overview of our upcoming Voter Registration and Vote-by-Mail plan while Vice Chair of Outreach, Bob Bruner, briefed the DEC on our successful National Voter Registration Day event and encouraged local Democrats to volunteer for the voter registration team HERE ([link removed]) . The Candidate committee is meeting with candidates and will be sharing recommendations for the upcoming municipal elections soon. Details for the Young Voter Focus Group were also discussed.
Last week, DEC Secretary, Claudia Martino partnered with Mi Vecino ([link removed]) Co-Founders Alex Berrios and Devon Murphy-Anderson to host a data and VAN tools training in Vero Beach for the Democrats of Indian River and our fellow Democrats of St. Lucie County. Creating a well-trained, empowered & motivated volunteer base is CRITICAL for Florida’s future!

Our community is stronger when we work together, and right now, your support is crucial to keep the momentum going! While U.S. healthcare advances, women in Florida still experience barriers to basic healthcare treatment and services. Join the Initiative for Reproductive Justice (IRJ), a group associated with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach ([link removed]-]K*F) that advocates for women’s healthcare rights, for the FREE Focus on Women’s Health: Education and Empowerment event.

This educational program for women’s healthcare rights and services will feature medical and public policy experts who will present topics on reproductive health, maternal and infant care, women’s lifespan health issues (STD’s, heart health, gynecologic cancers, menopause), and behavioral health.

The event, held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Emerson Center located at 1590 27th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida, is FREE and open to the public; no registration or reservations required.
