“Dear House Republicans…”

I started my day writing an open letter to the president.  But it seems I am not to be the only one writing open letters today.  Jim Geraghty wrote a doozy to the House Republicans today as well.  His theme is that there is real and serious work to be done and we need a speaker to do it, which cannot be accomplished while everyone poses for the cameras and pretends outrage.  He is, as almost always, right.

Dear President Biden…

…I wake up every morning expecting the world to be aflame, to hear of some new “regional conflict” that actually represents a battle of civilizations.  My mood through each day shifts between discomfited to anxious to depressed and back.  But never do I feel at ease.  Never do I feel I can relax my vigilance.  I am always looking over my shoulder for what is next.  I am exhausted by the effort.
