The NCUA Board released the agenda ahead of its meeting next week. The board will discuss a notice of proposed rulemaking regarding amending and simplifying its share insurance rules and a proposal to enact the Fair Hiring in Banking Act. The NCUA Board will also receive an update on the agency’s cybersecurity programs and cybersecurity trends in the industry.
The CFPB and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Thursday announced a $15 million order against a subsidiary of TransUnion for violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The CFPB also took a separate $8 million enforcement action against the company.
The Senate Banking Committee has announced it will hold a nomination hearing Oct. 19 that will include NCUA Board nominee Tanya Otsuka. Otsuka was nominated last month by President Joe Biden to replace current Board Member Rodney Hood, whose term expired in August.
