Congressional Democrats just reintroduced the Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act – two key pieces of legislation that would expand voting rights and block voter suppression laws nationwide!
Together, these two bills would restore and modernize the full protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 – which the ultra-conservative Supreme Court gutted in a 2013 ruling that paved the way for unchecked Republican voter suppression.
We know that suppressing the vote is Republicans’ #1 strategy to winning elections and defeating progressive candidates – so we need to act NOW to make sure every single vote counts!
