John,

In the face of Israel's darkest hour, the former President took the stage and chose to use his platform in a way that shocked the conscience. Trump openly mocked Israel, praised a terrorist organization (Hezbollah), and made disparaging remarks about the Capitol, the very symbol of our democracy.

I expected to wake up to a chorus of voices from within the GOP, individuals who claim to stand strong with Israel, swiftly denouncing Trump’s reckless words. Unfortunately, silence is what we received. Not a single word of rebuke or condemnation.

It's disheartening to note that every single Congressional member of the Michigan Republican Party continues to endorse the former President despite his egregious behavior. We're left waiting for a sign of moral courage and principled leadership. The silence we've encountered is telling – it speaks volumes about where their priorities lie.

Now more than ever, we need leaders who will put the values of democracy, diplomacy, and decency above partisan politics. We need representatives who will hold those in power accountable for their words and actions.

I am praying for all those affected by the recent tragedies in the Middle East.

Hillary
