Water source presentation

There will be another presentation on the new water source at the Committee of the Whole meeting [ [link removed] ] at 6 p.m. on October 17 at Village Hall. Preliminary information was shared at the August 22 meeting.?The Board continues to review and discuss future water rates as Lake Michigan water is on target to be connected in 2027.?

Community survey
The Village is?partnering with ETC Institute, one of the nation?s leading local government research firms, to mail a community survey to 500 random households. If you receive this survey, please complete it. The results will be used to improve existing programs and services and help determine long-range planning and decisions in our community.

Shred event this Saturday
Shred Event [ [link removed] ]
Get rid of old documents at a?free shred event [ [link removed] ] this Saturday, October 14 from 9 a.m. until approximately 1 p.m. at the Village's Public Works facility.
Up to three large file boxes of papers are allowed per vehicle. Place boxes in your trunk to allow staff easy access to unload. Plan to arrive early since the event will end at 1 p.m. or when shredding trucks have reached capacity.?
Hosted by the Oswego Police Department and First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO), the event takes place at the Village's Public Works facility, 100 Theodore Drive.?

Don't ghost this unique family Halloween event on Sunday, October 15 from noon to 2 p.m. Dress in costume, decorate your car and participate in the Village's Halloween Drive-Around Scavenger Hunt [ [link removed] ]...presented by The Learning Experience?
Register [ [link removed] ] in advance for $20 per car, or $25 on the day of the event. All proceeds benefit the Kendall County Food Pantry.?

Live demonstrations and tours

Meet police officers and firefighters on Saturday, October 21 at the?Public Safety Open House [ [link removed] ]?from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Connect with first responders and learn about safety while having fun. Event activities include a live fire demonstration, obstacle course and jail cell visits.??
The event takes place at Oswego's Public Safety Campus, 3355 Woolley Road.

Help local women in need
Love Purse Drive [ [link removed] ]
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Help?provide necessities to area women in need who are fleeing domestic violence or human trafficking through the Love Purse drive [ [link removed] ].?
Drop off new purses filled with personal care items, toiletries and notes of encouragement at Village Hall and the Oswego Police Department through Tuesday, October 31.
The Love Purse drive is sponsored by Senator Linda Holmes. Village Hall is located at 100 Parkers Mill and the Police Department is located at 3355 Woolley Road. Learn more [ [link removed] ] and view a list of?suggested items and additional drop-off locations.
