House Republicans may have narrowly avoided a total government shutdown on October 1, but not even a week later, they halted all House business to oust Kevin McCarthy.

Even their leadership has no interest in cleaning up Republicans’ dysfunction — following the McCarthy vote, their top priority was giving Democrats smaller offices.
