Team — The House GOP is descending into further chaos as they try to replace Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, and there’s a name being thrown around as a potential successor:

Elise Stefanik

While Steve Scalise desperately tries to shore up support, Punchbowl News is reporting that Stefanik might be a fallback option.

Elise Stefanik is Trump’s favorite puppet in Congress. She gloats about speaking with him frequently and is an early endorser of his presidential campaign. She even introduced a resolution with Marjorie Taylor Greene to expunge Trump’s impeachment.

It gets worse: Stefanik also stands strongly alongside George Santos, who just this week was indicted on even more federal charges, including aggravated identity theft and credit card fraud.

She supports a federal abortion ban. She is against common sense gun safety legislation. She even wrote the GOP plan to decimate Medicare and Social Security for our seniors.

Elise Stefanik made Pat’s district a top target to flip — pledging $100 million in spending in New York next year to hold the House.
