๐ฑ Legislation Introduced: Green Americaโs Clean Energy Victory Bonds legislation has been reintroduced in the House and Senate. If enacted, it will make it easier for all Americans to invest in clean energy.
๐ Starbucks Campaign: Nearly 150,000 letters from Green Americans and global partners like Be Slavery Free, Freedom United, Mighty Earth, and Starbucks Workers United were sent urging Starbucks to reveal its cocoa sourcing and take action to address child labor, deforestation, and create a living income for cocoa farmers.
๐ด Specialized Petitions: Over 5000 petitions were delivered to the CEO of Specialized cycling company at its HQ in Morgan Hill, CA. The goal? To get Specialized to pay its share of the $2.1 million owed to 842 Salvadoran garment workers.
๐ FABRIC Act Advocacy: Green America took part in a lobby day with The Garment Worker Center and other allies, speaking to numerous legislators to gather support for the FABRIC Act - a pivotal bill to create new workplace protections and rebuild the domestic apparel industry.
๐ Kroger's Initiative: After hearing from thousands of Green Americans, Kroger is taking measures to reduce the leakage of climate-harming HFC gases from its refrigerators. But it needs to do far more, including phasing out HFCs in all its stores.
