Today, Mainers will choose which Democratic candidate they want to face the most corrupt president in modern American history.

Right now, there is only one candidate who stands out in the polls to beat Trump and offers a vision to deliver the change our country desperately needs. And that’s Bernie Sanders. [[link removed]]

John, our planet is literally on fire. People in this country are dying and going bankrupt because health care is too expensive. Working-class Americans are struggling to make a decent living, care for their families and build for their futures.

We need a president who can lead us through the solutions to these and so many other issues all of us grapple with on a daily basis. We need a leader who will work with us to make the impossible, possible.

That’s why I will be voting for Bernie Sanders, and I hope you will, too.

But we can't stop there. If we’re going to pass Medicare for All, a Green New deal and many other progressive policies, we'll need a Congress to support the president.

I'll need your vote in Maine's June primary. When I am your U.S. Senator, I will fight for those policies. I have been fighting the good fight for working-class Mainers for decades. I'm ready to take that fight to Washington.

I look forward to electing both a new U.S Senator from Maine and new President in November. And for that to happen, we all have to get out and vote like our lives depend on it.
