🏛️ On Oct. 3, former EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler was sworn in as the junior senator from California! Her historic appointment makes her the only Black woman serving in the chamber and brings an invaluable pro-choice voice to the Senate majority.
🌵 Gov. Katie Hobbs has filed a brief with the Arizona Supreme Court to block the state's pre-Civil War era abortion ban. Gov. Hobbs has been a fierce advocate for abortion access since taking office, and we're proud to see her fight hard for millions of Arizonans.
🗽 New York City hospitals now offer telehealth abortion access, thanks to the work of local officials like City Council member and Health committee chair Lynn Schulman. The program is the first of its kind to expand abortion care access through public health care channels.
EMILYs List supports Democratic pro-choice women at every level of office — all of whom will fight for our fundamental rights every day. And this community is the reason they're able to accomplish this critical work.
Donate now to continue supporting pro-choice women who refuse to back down in the fight to protect abortion access:
