Did
you see that a second large earthquake struck Herat, Afghanistan, on
Wednesday — just days after major quakes in the same area claimed the
lives of 2,400 people?
Humanitarian needs in the region were already at a critical level, and are
now only escalating as more people have suffered injuries or lost their
homes in this latest disaster.
As rapidly escalating crises take a devastating toll on communities from
Afghanistan to Gaza and Israel, the world must respond with decisive
action to help save lives. [ [link removed] ]Will you rush an emergency
donation to support our response
in Afghanistan and in communities facing crises around the world?

Dayne Curry, Mercy Corps Country Director in Afghanistan, shared this
report after speaking with his team:
"The ongoing humanitarian response is not proportionate to the need, and a
lack of international attention has meant survivors are left more
vulnerable to shocks such as these, facing chronic shortages of clean
water and inadequate shelter.”
Mercy Corps is rushing to address the water and sanitation needs of people
in earthquake-affected communities. We are also distributing hygiene kits
and other urgently needed supplies, and will continue to assess and
respond to the needs of families in the weeks and months ahead.
Mercy Corps has been working in Afghanistan since 1986 to provide
lifesaving services and long-term support — from water and sanitation
services to agriculture and vocational training. We will continue to
respond to this latest crisis to help communities as they recover and
rebuild.
Your gift to Mercy Corps will be used where it is needed most in places
like Afghanistan and in communities recovering from crises around the
globe. [ [link removed] ]Please rush your support now ▸
