After breaking profit records year after year, Peoples Gas is pushing the biggest rate hike in Illinois history. The $400 million increase would raise our bills by more than $140 per year.
Already, one in five Peoples Gas customers are in debt to the utility, and this rate hike will only make the Chicago home heating affordability crisis worse.
Join us Thursday, October 19th at the Illinois Commerce Commission to say NO to the rate hike!
We will then walk across the street to City Hall to advocate for the Clean and Affordable Buildings Ordinance to ensure a future of lower utility bills and healthy buildings.
Rather than wasting money on failing fossil fuel infrastructure, it’s time to start the transition to clean, affordable, all-electric homes.
That’s why we’re calling on regulators to say NO to Peoples Gas rate hike and YES to the Clean & Affordable Building Ordinance. Sign up today!
See you October 19th!
In Solidarity,
Team 350 Chicago
