This is an important email about the political stunt Lt. Governor Mark Robinson just pulled.

Today, with Governor Cooper out of the state on an economic development mission, Robinson called a press conference as “acting governor.”

It’s tragically ironic that someone with a long history of hate speech against Jewish people would take advantage of death and destruction in Israel for his own political purposes.

We cannot ignore his long history of dangerous antisemitic comments that have made Jewish communities in our state feel vulnerable in the first place.

Mark Robinson is unfit to lead North Carolina, and his dangerous views are a threat to all of us. We must stop him and extreme Republicans in their tracks.

Governor Cooper believes that Israel needs both our prayers and our support. He stands steadfast in supporting Israel and their right to self-defense and has taken action to protect houses of worship and other religious organizations here that could be targeted. He has also been in communication with the Israeli government to reaffirm our partnership.

Robinson’s political stunt damages our state’s reputation while Governor Cooper is in Japan bringing back good-paying jobs for North Carolinians, and it’s yet another reason why he should never be elected to a position of real responsibility.
