Through their legislative advocacy, parents and advocates lit the spark that launched a reading revolution in more than 30 states. But now the new “science of reading” laws must go into practice in the classroom. To that end, states and districts are retraining teachers, revamping curricula, screening students, and embedding these changes for the long-term benefit of students. It’s a massive task.

To learn more about how the work is going, FutureEd Senior Fellow Lynn Olson will moderate a discussion featuring former Tennessee commissioner of education Penny Schwinn, Arkansas state education leaders Kiffany Pride and Karli Saracini, and Mary Bussman, a principal on special assignment in Minnesota’s Roseville Area Schools. You can join the webinar ([link removed]) on Tuesday, October 24 at 2 p.m. Eastern.
