Congress needs to hear from us!

Dear Friend,

In the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel, the Israeli government ordered a total blockade of Gaza and commenced bombing. Borders are sealed, cutting off more than 2 million people in Gaza from clean water, food, medicine, electricity, and other basic needs.

As a result, a completely preventable humanitarian crisis is unfolding. As widespread bombing on Gaza continues, people are going hungry. The U.N. and humanitarian agencies are being denied access to Gaza, and Palestinians in Gaza can’t safely move to access basic necessities. Thousands more people may die of lack of access to water, medicine, and care. We must protect civilian life. Hostages must be returned and humanitarian aid must be available in Gaza.

Our elected officials must speak out today. Tell Congress: Comply with international conventions and demand immediate humanitarian access for Gaza! [link removed]

Members of Congress must insist that Israel adhere to international humanitarian and human rights law, allow humanitarian access, and establish safe zones for civilians in Gaza. They must also do everything they can to end Israel’s bombing of Gaza to prevent more deaths.

Bombings in Gaza have claimed the lives of over 1,350 people—at least 447 of them children. Whole families have been killed as homes and apartment blocks were destroyed. Hundreds of thousands more people have been forcibly displaced. These numbers will multiply if there are no safe zones established in Gaza.

Too many people in both Palestine and Israel have already lost their lives. More bombings will not bring peace. Nor will a blockade that deprives people of basic needs. Congress must act now to de-escalate the violence and ensure humanitarian access.

Send a message to your elected officials today. [link removed]
