California appears to have a problem with religious education. The
state is blocking families from using state homeschool funds because
these families choose to use a faith-based curriculum.

That's wrong. It's also unconstitutional. Government
cannot discriminate against parents who choose a religious education
for their kids.

Yesterday, we filed a federal lawsuit to stop California's
blatant discrimination. We're taking this case to federal court
to make sure state officials follow the law.

We're representing three California families. The Woolards,
Gonzales and Dodsons all educate their children through public charter
schools.

California has several charter schools that offer homeschool programs.
Parents who choose this option receive an account with funds they can
use for school materials and curriculum to teach their children.

Here's the problem. The state is telling our clients they CANNOT
use those funds to purchase curriculum, materials or classes that are
religious.

The Supreme Court's landmark decision in Carson v. Makin, our
Treat Children Fairly case, made it abundantly clear that government
cannot exclude families just because they want to use state-provided
funding for a religious education. Our clients must be treated the
same as everyone else.

Religious families should never be reduced to second class citizens.
Period.

That's why we're fighting for the Woolards, Dodsons, and
Gonzalezs. But we can't do this alone. We need you to join
us-and them-in this fight.

These families are just like yours. Just like mine. They simply want
what's best for their kids. But the state keeps discriminating
against them.

Both you and I already know, these cases are incredibly hard to fight.
They require tremendous resources. They demand the very best of us and
our volunteer attorneys.

If we stand together, we will win this case. But to achieve victory,
we'll have to take the state of California to court.

We've taken on state bullies before-and beat them in
court. In fact, we've taken bullies like these all the way to
the highest court in the country and beaten them there. Our Treat
Children Fairly victory is proof of that.

Let's go get another win. This won't just be a victory for
three families in California. It will be a WIN FOR YOU. For your
family. A win for millions of families and religious schools across
America.
