Every dollar counts in the fight to protect women and their unborn babies. Will you help?

Dear John,

For years, the abortion industry hid behind the mantra of “safe, legal, and rare.”

No longer.

Today, the abortion industry is not shy about its real agenda: on demand, up until the moment of birth, and at any cost.

Women are encouraged to shout and celebrate (with cake!) their abortions. Pro-abortion activists deny the human rights of the unborn—even fully formed babies that can survive outside the womb (which they call “a fetus that was born”).

When New York passed a law that made abortion legal up until the moment of birth for almost any reason, Governor Andrew Cuomo had the One World Trade Center lit up in pink to mark the occasion.

And now this…

In Louisiana, the problem of dangerous and medically substandard abortion facilities is well documented. Women have nearly died. Some have lost their ability to bear children due to botched abortions.

And yet, the Louisiana abortion industry has fought all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to invalidate a law that merely holds abortion doctors in the state to the same standard as other doctors performing surgeries at outpatient surgery centers.

You read that right. The abortion industry wants special treatment so they can continue to profit off women and their dead children.

John, abortion is a terrible offense to human life. But in a world where abortion is sadly legal, we need laws like Louisiana’s to hold abortionists accountable.

Oral arguments in the case—June Medical Services v. Russo—will happen tomorrow at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Will you stand with us as we work with allies to win this case in the courtroom—and in the court of public opinion?

What happened to Brenda

Brenda went to an abortion facility in Louisiana for a surgical abortion. But the abortionist botched the procedure and Brenda began to bleed…heavily.

The abortionist left Brenda sitting on the operating table for nearly eight hours while she continued to lose blood. No one ever called a hospital or 911.

Finally, someone loaded Brenda into a car—not an ambulance—and took her to an emergency room.

The hospital was never informed that Brenda had complications from an abortion procedure, so no one knew the real cause of her bleeding—a perforated uterus and incomplete abortion (the baby’s skull was still inside of her).

Brenda lay on a hospital bed for three days while the hole in her uterus became infected. It took an emergency hysterectomy to save Brenda’s life. Now, she can no longer have children. All because the abortionist couldn’t be bothered to treat Brenda properly.

John, the incompetence of abortionists in Louisiana is not unique to Brenda’s story.

At another abortion facility, the medical director hired an eye doctor and a radiologist to perform abortions. Abortionists in the state have a history of negligence and have repeatedly endangered the lives of their patients. They’ve even committed Medicaid fraud.

And Louisiana abortion facilities have been cited numerous times for health and safety violations. Failing to sanitize medical equipment between patients. Reusing single-use equipment. Unsanitary conditions. Expired medications. Failing to obtain parental consent before performing abortions on minors. Protecting rapists. The list goes on and on.

It’s time to end the hypocrisy. The abortion industry clearly doesn’t care about women—it cares about profit—and it will fight to continue this horrific practice at any cost.

Please make your gift today to stand for life and help hold the abortion industry accountable.

Abortion extremism is on the rise – we must act

John, since ADF was founded, we have prayed for and worked toward the day when Roe v. Wade is overturned and abortion is unthinkable in our society.

But the abortion industry continues to fight us at every turn.

Abortion groups like Planned Parenthood are wielding their massive influence and fortunes to continue the horrific practice of preying on vulnerable women and profiting off dead babies.

They claim laws like Louisiana’s are an attack on women. They fail to realize that the pro-life community cares about women just as much as we do their unborn children.

John, if we truly want to save lives and end the scourge of abortion on our society, we have a duty to love both mother and child—and protect them both. That’s why we must act when the abortion industry attacks laws that protect women’s health.

The pro-life community has an opportunity to secure an important victory at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Will you help?

Please make your tax-deductible gift right now to ensure that laws like the one in Louisiana—and our pro-life brothers and sisters—always have a strong legal defense.
