Hi ,

(Lea este boletín de noticias en español ([link removed]) )

On Saturday, October 14, the City of Los Angeles is hosting a FREE Business and Financial Empowerment Summit at the world-class BMO Stadium.

This will be a great opportunity for anyone that wants to learn how to get access to free resources, including legal aid, business certification, financial consultation, business assessment, and homeownership. Businesses will learn how to access capital in today’s economy, seize forthcoming opportunities, and much more.

Panel discussions featuring industry experts will be scheduled throughout the day to provide businesses insight into the current economic climate, funding and procurement opportunities, and lessons learned by small and minority owned companies.

Special guest and renowned actress and entrepreneur Tracee Ellis Ross will also join me for a fireside chat!

** Progress with Small Businesses
------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier this month, my Office released a progress report ([link removed]) from City departments that identifies barriers to doing business in the city and offers a path forward. City Departments have already started implementing those solutions.

With more than 10,500 businesses opening in Los Angeles since last December, it is clear that Los Angeles is open for business.

I hope to see you this weekend!
