Dear
Friend,
Happy National
Coming Out Day! Today we stand together to celebrate the
dazzling diversity of our LGBTQIA+ community, and demand a world where
we are free to be our authentic selves.
From our inception, the Green Party of the United States has
embedded LGBTQIA+ rights in our platform, recognizing the urgency of
addressing the profound challenges faced by these communities. We
understand that authenticity and conviction are integral to the
LGBTQIA+ experience—qualities that resonate with our party's
commitment to genuine, principled advocacy.
It's no wonder that many in the LGBTQIA+ community are turning away
from the politics of the two corporate parties and finding a home in
the Green Party.
“Queer people don't grow up as ourselves, we grow
up playing a version of ourselves that sacrifices authenticity to
minimize humiliation and prejudice. The massive task of our adult
lives is to unpack which parts of ourselves are truly us and which
parts we've created to protect us."
