Friend, we are close to the next speakership vote and pick-me Republicans are lining up to claim the gavel. Here’s a live look at House GOP HQ:

Republicans’ current top contenders included Jim Jordan, the blueprint for avoiding court subpoenas while galvanizing insurrectionists and fringe alt-right groups in-kind, and Steve Scalise, the House Majority leader who, in addition to denying the 2020 election results, failed to use his leadership to control the Freedom Caucus (making him a primary reason we’ve found ourselves in this mess in the first place).

A closed GOP vote earlier today told us Scalise might have the votes to become the next speaker, but my guess is the clown show is only just beginning.
