In just a minute, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign for United States Senate in Arizona. PLEASE give me a chance to explain why this request -- especially today -- is so important.

Here is the truth:

Last night, Kari Lake announced she is running for United States Senate in Arizona.

She'll start her campaign with the support of the entire Trump-right and even some rich Republicans who may not like her, but want to see Republicans take control of the Senate.

Now, I hear a lot of people say "Kari Lake can never win." Please know that's false. She lost her last statewide campaign in Arizona by less than 1%.

And given the uncertainty Kyrsten Sinema's involvement adds to the race, anything can happen.

Polling shows we hold a slight lead in this race. We can win this seat for Democrats, and help us keep control of the Senate.

But I can't do it without you. We are going to face wild and expensive attacks.

I know you probably didn't wake up this morning, shoot out of bed and race to your computer thinking "I can't wait to contribute to Ruben Gallego's campaign today."

But I hope you will. The outcome of Arizona's Senate race, and control of the United States Senate depends on it.
