The over 2 million people who live in Gaza are now indefinitely without electricity. Hospitals will cease to function, what little food is left will rot, and medicine that requires refrigeration will become unusable because of the total siege Israel is subjecting the population to. The Israeli Minister of "Defense" said this was justified because people who live in Gaza are "human animals."

Even before Israel's assault, Gaza had an extremely scarce supply of electricity. But with the Israeli military cruelly blocking any and all fuel from entering the area, the sole power generation plant in Gaza had to shut down today. The deadly consequences of this move are only beginning to be felt. And this comes on top of other large-scale atrocities, like the destruction of nearly 23,000 residential homes since Saturday.

Israel's new war on the population of Gaza has intensified an already-intolerable situation. A blockade has been in place since 2005, causing key infrastructure to break down. For instance, 97 percent of the drinking water in Gaza is not safe to consume.

We need to proudly stand with the Palestinian people in this moment of grave crisis and demand that all U.S. aid to Israel immediately end. The Biden administration has already sent its first massive shipment of ammunition to Israel, and is promising to send as much weaponry as Israel wants.

Israel's utter brutality is causing a massive global backlash. Every day, solidarity demonstrations are happening across the country and around the world. Find an action near you below, check back to the ANSWER website for an updated list of actions, and submit an action for the listing here.
