Before GOP Governor Youngkin took office, Governor Ralph Northam worked with state legislators and key stakeholders to set the state on a path to transition to 100% renewable energy. By passing policies such as the Virginia Clean Economy Act (VCEA) and participating in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), Virginia established itself as a leader toward a clean energy future for all of our communities. Unfortunately, this hard-won progress is under attack.
Right now, Republicans hold a slim majority in the State House of Delegates, and Democrats hold a slim majority in the State Senate. With an anti-climate governor in office, it’s essential that we elect as many pro-climate candidates to the general assembly this November.
This is where you come in. Will you make a contribution to support these candidates today?
My team and I will be reaching out between now and November 7 to keep you updated on the race and how you can get involved, but your support today will ensure that Virginia can continue to lead the way toward a clean energy future.
More soon,
Jane Fonda
