I’ve always wanted to be an advocate |
I chose to pursue a career in psychology because I believe everything starts with what a person is thinking. Depression, happiness, anger—it all starts in the mind.
By focusing on the mind and its care, I knew I could help people. In the mental health field, I have seen and worked with people who are suffering. So many of them feel as if there is no reason to keep living, and can’t see a way to find happiness. For many, their experiences with our healthcare system have included being talked down to, feeling minimized, and being dismissed. I wanted to change things. And I knew I could do so as an advocate. I could listen and help people see the good in themselves. I could help them hold onto that joy and find inner-strength. I might even save lives.
All these years later, that is why I do what I do. And it’s the inspiration behind this campaign. If you’re with me, please make a donation now and help me keep this campaign going strong. It means more than you know. |
