SVYD: Proposed Bylaws Amendment

Hello Young Democrats!

At the Silicon Valley Young Democrats next General Membership meeting, we will have an agenda item to discuss and vote on the below amendment to the SVYD bylaws. The meeting will take place on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 7pm. The location shall be the Santa Clara County Democratic Party Headquarters at 2901 Moorpark Ave #110, San Jose, CA 95128.


This change was recommended by the Bylaws Committee last fall but was postponed until after the March 3, 2020 election to keep the endorsement process consistent for that election.


As a reminder, in order to vote, members must have attended at least two meetings and paid annual dues since July 1, 2019. You can pay dues here: [link removed] ([link removed])

Article VII (Endorsements), Section 2(c)(ix) shall be amended to read as follows:


Any general membership endorsement vote must receive a simple [DEL: 60% :DEL] majority to be adopted.
