** Exciting news! Our Detainer FAQ ([link removed]) website is live!
------------------------------------------------------------

Each year, we get calls from hundreds of immigrants. Over the past year, we noticed that many of the callers from outside of NYC were calling about a loved one in jail with an ICE detainer. Our efforts to end collusion between local and state governments and ICE in New York City and State put us at the top of their google searches.

So we created this Detainer FAQ website ([link removed]) to provide an introduction to ICE detainers specifically for impacted community members. It answers some of the most common questions:
* What is an ICE Detainer?
* Why do I have an ICE Detainer?
* How does ICE know about Me?
* How Long Can I Be Held in Criminal Custody on a Detainer?
* What Can I Do About an ICE detainer?

This resource offers a basic orientation to help community members understand how Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) use detainers. ICE Detainer FAQ ([link removed]) provides concise and engaging information so that individuals can be informed about the processes used by ICE and be better prepared to navigate the challenges that may arise. Local organizations, such as public defenders and immigrant rights advocates, are best placed to help community members understand the nuances of local policies and assist individuals in creating an action plan. But by offering this resource ([link removed]) , we can empower individuals to take action and advocate for their rights.

** Share our Detainer FAQ ([link removed]) website with your networks to help us reach communities in need. Join us in making a difference.
