Around the world, girls are consistently lacking in sexual and reproductive health education and access to care. Girls must have the power to fully exercise their sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the Center for Reproductive Rights is at the forefront of this fight.

Nearly 50% of girls aged 15 to 19 who live in low and middle income countries have an unmet need for contraception. 27,000 maternal deaths occur each year in that same age group. Barriers to reproductive health care puts girls' lives at risk.

Here are just a few ways your support strengthens laws, policies and practices that ensure the human rights of girls are respected and protected, and that their futures are secure:

* Your commitment helped change Tanzania's practice of expelling pregnant girls from public education, allowing thousands the opportunity to continue formal education.

* With you by our side, we worked with partners to advocate for the rights of children in the Philippines, leading to a landmark new law to prevent and end child marriage in that country.

* Thanks to your support, we won a landmark ruling that established legally binding standards to prevent sexual violence and harassment in schools throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

And that's just the beginning. Each and every girl around the world deserves access to education, economic opportunities, social empowerment, and independence.
