MCBA Launches Adopt-A-Block Program
The MCBA was happy to announce the launch of their Adopt-A-Block program. Ashford Inc. was the first member company to participate in this program and has chosen to adopt the Oaklawn area just north of downtown. The initiative began Friday, August 6th, which was a beautiful morning to be outside in the city.
Highlighting the importance of the program, Ashford filled multiple garbage bags and picked up literally hundreds of items of trash, all along the major thoroughfares. This will be an ongoing program as Ashford Inc. will be meeting every other week to clean this section of Dallas for the foreseeable future.

DFW Employers and Employees Are All on the Same Side
They are paid on a per-job basis, but workers are sometimes short changed or not paid at all when the work is finished.
That’s why the City of Dallas and Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, a quasi-governmental and non-profit organization that helps employers find qualified candidates, have joined forces to develop a pilot program to launch in October where, in all likelihood, workers will be able to register with the city and get assistance as they engage with contractors at two mobile centers.
