In Texas and North Carolina, MJ Hegar and Cal Cunningham are running to unseat incumbent Republicans in Democratic primaries. Republicans are scared, and in North Carolina, they're pouring money and misinformation into these primaries to keep these seats safe. You can bet they will do the same in Texas. MJ is a decorated combat veteran and working mother. She has both the courage and the independence to put Texas first and is running on the issues that matter most to Texans: making health care and prescription drugs more affordable, protecting coverage for Texans with pre-existing conditions, and taking action to address climate change. Her opponent, Texas Senator John Cornyn, is spending his time in the Senate parroting White House talking points -- he says any resistance to Trump's agenda is "all about politics, folks."

Cal Cunningham is an Army veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, business leader, and former legislator who served as vice chairman of the North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission. He is running to serve as North Carolina's next United States senator. But this race will be close: 49% of North Carolinians have an unfavorable opinion of Donald Trump, but 48% are still fans. In a presidential election year, this race will come down to every last vote.
